Christmas 2012

Here it is New Year's and I am finally getting around to posting about Christmas. One of my resolutions for 2012 is to do a better job with pictures and blogging and I am hoping things will calm down here enough for me to do so.

We had a wonderful Christmas here. The kids did not get up too early. They began their day with our new Christmas tradition of looking for the little mouse that daddy hides in the village every morning. They really enjoy this.

The kids were all excited about Christmas and we had a relaxing morning as a family, opening gifts, cooking in the new kitchen, eating, praying, reading the Gospel, lighting our advent wreath, playing with toys and opening more gifts. We really took our time and enjoyed each gift before moving on to the next thing. We were also blessed to have Moma here with us this year.

We got the kids little things, that they really liked such as Hot Wheels Cars, Bey Blades, Legos, etc. They also received their annual special ornament. We have a whole new tree this year in the new kitchen just for the special ornaments.

Finally, around noon, we gave the kids their "big" present, which was a Kindle Fire for each of them. They were all super excited about these gifts and they have been a big hit.

Around 1:30 or so, we left for my parents' house and opened gifts there. I got a couple photos of the kids opening gifts, other than that I took absolutely no photos. All the usual suspects were at my mom and dad's house except Gabrielle and Marty. This was our first Christmas without them, so it was kind of strange and a little melancholy to me.

We left my parents' house around 6:30 or so and came home and unloaded all the gifts.
